I’ve spent my entire life happily and comfortably entangled in art. Fueled by encouraging parents and mentors, and supported by years of structured study combined with self exploration, I've been rewarded with many years as a professional designer and artist. I am grateful everyday to have had the means to apply and to some degree tame my need to express my creativity. To live the life of an artist.
I was first introduced to the high desert community of Joshua Tree in 2010. Visiting often over the next two years, I made the decision to move to the area in late 2012. Inspired by its rugged beauty, I now work out of my studio on the hill overlooking town, only minutes from Joshua Tree National Park.
As a California native and lifelong artist who has been driven by her surroundings, my work is ever evolving. I work hard to develop paintings that speak to me as well as others about the beauty of nature in its many forms. My goal is to express that deep connection, to capture its spirit, and give it a voice. Known for my bold use of color, I apply paint in washes and semitransparent to semi opaque layers developing a translucency in some cases, and a bold juxtaposition of color in other cases. I welcome others to take in and feel deeply the subject and hope to provide the observer with an opportunity to explore their feelings and connect as I do. It is my passion and is what drives me to create.
Art and inspiration? Its in my everyday life - and I can't imagine life without it.
